The North Georgia Conference’s Advocacy Team

The North Georgia Conference’s Advocacy Team is one of the five ministry arms of the the Annual Conference’s Office of Connectional Ministries.  Our team has responsibility for broad areas of work.  We relate to the United Methodist Church’s Board of Church and Society, Commission on the Status and Role of Women, Commission on Religion and Race, Ethnic Local Church Concerns, Disability Concerns, Native American Concerns, Commission on Ecumenical and Interreligious Concerns, Persons Living in Poverty, and Sustainability.

Recently, we have been partnering with agencies such as the Interfaith Children’s Movement to addressing trafficking of minors in Georgia, including workshops for clergy and sponsoring a day of citizen advocacy at the Georgia State Capitol. To find out more information, please visit us on the web ngumc.org/advocacy <http://ngumc.org/advocacy> .

Welcome!

Reading the Campaign booklet is a first step for becoming familiar with this initiative. It offers information and resources to encourage your activism. It can be viewed and downloaded at The Campaign page.

We hope that you will contribute information about your work with children. Descriptions of your ministries will be helpful to others who want to deepen their involvement to care for children in poverty.

You can influence the Campaign’s effectiveness.  Be involved.  Offer your ideas.  Encourage others.

Trusting in God, we dare to envision a world in which every child experiences love, care, and hope. Together we can be the difference in the lives of children in poverty.
